Puck’s Glen Day Tour from Glasgow

Join us on an enchanting Scottish adventure to Puck’s Glen on the Cowal Peninsula, Argyll – arguably one of Scotland’s most magical forest walks. This spectacular day tour from Glasgow takes you by ferry across the Clyde Estuary to discover a mystical woodland gorge named after the sprite in Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dream. Beware the legendary local fairies Poca Ban and Ghillie Dhu as we navigate through this enchanted Celtic rainforest.

Your Puck’s Glen Adventure

Departing from your Glasgow accommodation, we travel west to Gourock ferry terminal – a scenic 40-minute journey. Embark on a short ferry crossing to Hunters Quay near Dunoon, where you’ll be mesmerised by the natural landscape of the Kyles of Bute. Your Puck’s Glen adventure begins just 6 miles from the ferry port.

Traverse criss-cross bridges arching over sparkling, clear rivers. Gaze in awe at cascading waterfalls that conceal wee nooks and crannies. Inhale the pure crisp air with heady woody scents you can only find in the deepest of forests. Puck’s Glen is renowned not only for its mystical beauty but also for the forest wildlife that inhabits it. Look out for red squirrels, red deer, and numerous bird species as you hike through this varied terrain.

After your refreshing forest trek, we can stop at a recommended tearoom and gallery en route to Loch Lomond, where you can relax amid the tranquil beauty of Ben Lomond’s shores. An optional Loch cruise is available.

Optional Stops: Loch Lomond & Dumbarton Castle

You can finish your day with a visit to stunning Dumbarton Castle, nestled on a volcanic plug overlooking the River Clyde. This 15th-century fortress is steeped in stories of Kings and Queens, with breathtaking views from the summit. We then return you to your Glasgow accommodation.
